Alright, so,

For my Media Studies final, I’m doing a lesson plan about Ethnomusicology, and focusing on Fanbases/Fandoms.

What I want to try to do is to get people to send me accounts and descriptions of their respective fanbases, what they feel their role is within their fanbases, etc., as I feel it would be the most accurate way of defining something so nebulous and diverse.

A few things to think about if you decide to send me something:

• How would you define an average member of your fanbase(s)?
• How would you define your fanbase(s) as a whole?
  
• Are there a lot of internal arguments/fights?
  
• Are the members of the fanbase(s) mostly accepting and tolerant of others?
  
• Is elitism prevalent?
• Do you feel that some members are too involved in their fandom(s)? How so?
• How, if at all, do you think fanbases have affected their respective bands? Do you think their actions have influenced the music? What about their personal lives?

Those are all the questions I can think of right now, but that should be good enough to at least get all of the information I’m looking for.

Feel free to add your own points to respond to if you’d like, and don’t feel pressured to answer every question or go extremely in-depth on all of the points.
